Ambiance
I always love the decor, music and vibe of Major food group restaurants. They really know how to set the mood and atmosphere. The setting reminded me of Minetta Tavern, a classic higher end diner-feel that takes you back maybe 30 or 40 years—except the decor was significantly nicer. The music selections were on point. The waiter was eccentric, humorous and most importantly genuine.
Food
Overall, I found the food to be very solid. We started with the beef carpaccio that was light and understated. The arugula and mushrooms were a nice touch. It was good, but I personally preferred the richer flavors of the lamb carpaccio at Dirty French. In retrospect, given the heavy entrees, the light beef carpaccio was actually very appropriate.
Next, we were served the vodka rigatoni and lobster ravioli. I really enjoyed the pasta. Both were excellent! It was so tasty, I'm drooling as I write this. They were not only generous with lobster it was also quite fresh. However, at this point, we were stuffed.
Next, we had the veal parmesan and roasted mushrooms. In general, I am not a fan of chicken parm or any parm type sandwiches, so I was hesitant. But the chicken parm at Carbone was very well made and high in quality. I think one pasta and a main entree or two pasta would have been plenty for two. We definitely over ordered. Many people tend to leave with leftovers. Reheating made the veal parmesan and mushrooms even more delicious the second time around.

Quality
The quality of food was definitely on point. Everything was well prepared.
Price
It can get expensive if you order too much. The portions are actually very large so you don't really need to order too much. I'd say about $70-80 per person.
Reservations
Getting a reservation can be tough. I got a reservation at 7:30pm reservation a month in advance.
